As of yesterday Amelia is two weeks old. We took her for her two week check up and were amazed by her growth. Generally the doctor wants to make sure that a baby has gotten back to their birth weight by the two week mark. Our little girl flew past her birth weight and now weighs 8 pounds, 11 ounces, or almost a full pound over her birth weight. She also grew two inches, now measuring 23" long. That puts her in the 75% percentile for weight and off the charts for height. Matt and I had been concerned that we were feeding her too much, but clearly she has needed the extra food!
Amelia is also working hard on holding her head up. When she's on her stomach, she now can easily move her head from side to side depending on what she wants to see. She's also working on rolling over. She can easily make it on to her side, but with a little more leg strength she'll be all the way over. I'm beginning to be concerned that she'll be crawling by the end of next month.
Amelia also got to meet her Grandfather this week. They clearly enjoyed each other.
I've gotten a glimpse at the teenage years where I will clearly embarrass my daughter on a regular basis.
Seriously, so embarrassing.
And her hand continues to be the greatest thing in the world, other than food.
