Not Quite a Beach Baby

This past week I had to be in Miami for work (don't get jealous I never got out of the hotel, on the beach or in the pool) and Matt had to be in San Francisco. While Teddy is an awesome dog, I'm not sure I would leave her alone with Amelia for a few days. So Amelia went to Florida with me and spent some time with Matt's parents at the house they rent on the beach for part of the winter. They stay outside Daytona, so Amelia and I flew to Orlando where they picked her up and then I continued on to Miami.

Tangent - My plane from Orlando to Miami really should be put out of commission. I swear it was from the 60's - complete with ash trays. It had only about 20 seats, no bathroom, and a curtain between us and the pilot. Oh, and you weren't allowed to turn on any electronics at all. We hit a bunch of turbulence and the curtain opened, so you could see out the front window, which was a little unnerving. And then we hit even more turbulence and alarms started going off in the cockpit. Now maybe that happens all the time, but I don't hear it because THERE'S USUALLY A DOOR! I did say a couple of prayers and hoped that this wasn't how I was going to die. Once we landed the pilot was going so fast on the ground that when he made turns the plane tilted and you could hear the rubber of the wheels.

My time in Miami was fine, and Matt is still doing well in San Francisco (happy birthday Matt!!) but Amelia had a great time with her grandparents.

It may be Florida, but it's still January so it was cold on the beach. Apparently Amelia wasn't a big fan of the sand.

She did have a tea party with her friend Boo Boo Bear (who has his own Facebook page if you'd like to friend him.)

All in all it was a good trip, but we're glad to be home. Teddy didn't come home last night till after Amelia went to bed, so they were super excited to see each other this morning.
