Playing with the Big Kids

While I was negligent with the picture taking this weekend, Amelia did have a great weekend. On Friday night the three of us went out to what might be our final meal at a favorite neighborhood restaurant. While we toyed with the idea of letting Amelia have a taste of their signature desert (a grilled donut with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and apples - soooo good) in the end we decided against it.

Saturday was spent running some errands and then dinner with friends. Amelia had a great time watching the big kids play and really enjoyed sitting on Sabrina's lap while Stevie blew raspberries at her. She also enjoyed seeing their toys and I think we saw the first item that will go on Amelia's Christmas list. I got to have some wrestling time with the kids and then we all had dinner, including CUPCAKES!!! After the kids all went to bed we got to spend some adult time talking, including a little bit not about the kids. :)

Sunday we hung around the house, played (including the realization that Amelia can now get up on all fours so is very close to officially crawling), and took a long nap. That night we went to a first birthday party for Amelia's cousin. There were more big kids there but this time Amelia was a little more timid. She hung out with me, my uncle, my cousin, my aunt, and my cousins' lovely girlfriend. She did great and even took a quick nap in my arms during the party. On the way out she managed to get a taste of baby Erik's birthday cake and seemed to enjoy it, even though most of it ended up on her bib. On the ride home I think all the stimulation got to her and she cried till we got home. The moment I took her out of the car she passed out and slept through the changing into her pjs. She slept all night, tired from all the excitement of the weekend. She was very good this morning and was super excited to see the nanny. I think she knows that means she's going to the park, which means - time on the swings!!!

Tonight we're having dinner with my father so I'm hoping she's got one more night of good behavior in her.
